@ Lee: Yes, I only mention it in the BR if he repairs it. He may have forgot to roll on the last turn. but he was out of AP anyway so I don't think it mattered.
I think 2 things. 1. Early in the game, when Mike moved his Cruisers up, and you then moved your Frigates out to hit them, might have been too early. Can't tell if there was something better to have moved, but that maneuver wasn't going to change, so could have been done later.
2. Why did you turn your line back into the Zeps instead of continuing on around the table edge?
Oh, and if you lost anything significant from the boarding action, it might have left your BB open to counter boarding from his BB, so trading 120 for 180 in the end. Shrug, my .03
@ Clay: Yes, I should have continued on around instead of doubling back. The original plan was to try and "Kite" them. I just strayed from the plan and it cost me.
As to the Frigates, I was going to have to burn an activation without a target anyway, It may as well been that one. On the next turn, I did exactly that, he moved the cruisers, and I let them set for a bit before responding. There, I had other things I could hit, earlier I did not.
As to boarding. Playing the British, I am usually trying NOT to get boarded. I don't really look for boarding opportunities. Looking back, It is still crazy that I didn't kill that thing.
Great battle report. I am actually starting the game next week. I do have a question. What are the tokens (fire, blue, & white) that you guys were using to track damage and other effects? Where do you get them.
Very nice (though very long) battle report. Watching DysWars is certainly very fun, but our gaming community appears to be more geared towards FS:A and Uncharted Seas. Keep going!
Thanks for the great battle report. Did you use the deck of cards in any of the battle reports? If not do you plan too? I am thinking of ordering the mega pack from Spartan games. Again thanks for the reports
@ Curtis: I'm not sure exactly, It was around 1 or 2 PM. We took off early from work to get a battle report in. Because of all of the photo's and notes they take a considerable amount of time to play. We did a rematch a few days later without a battle report that only lasted a few hours.
Awesome Job buddy!!
ReplyDeleteGreat report.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, were you rolling on the raging fires?
Lee

ReplyDelete@Marth: Thanks, I agree on the length. I am trying to figure out a way to shorten them up.

ReplyDelete@ Thepoz: We have not used the cards in any of the Battle Reports as of yet. Eventually we will.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of getting into DW, and I'm just curious: When did you guys start the battle?
