Drop Zone Commander

Well, the new game Drop Zone Commander by Hawk Wargames has caught my eye. I am going to try it out. If it's decent, I may do a couple of Battle Reports. Photobucket

Another fun game!

Siege of Augusta - Saturday Morning Session

Back in for another day of convention gaming. It's been so long since I have been to a con and not participate in a tournament that I forgot how much fun playing all of the different games can be.

Game 1:
They have tanks of their own. Ran by Chris Pagano

A Division level (each unit was a company) World War I game. This game was a lot of fun. I have been wanting to play a miniature game at this scale for a long time.

In the game there was 1 French Division and 1 British Division vs 1 German Division. Normally each person would play a regiment but we were a few players short so I controlled the British Division. As a result I had a lot to do so I was not able to take any photo's past the start of the game.

Overview of the board.

After the game the GM graciously sent me a copy of his rules. I am seriously considering converting them for WWII.

Siege of Augusta - Friday

Well, we made it. All signed in and hanging out waiting for the games to start.

Game 1:
French and Indian River Race. Ran by Dwight Jones
A fun convention game where the Trappers with their stolen furs must race the Indians down river to the safety of the fort.

Overview of the board:

Clay "Crazy Horse" Knuckles capsized in the rapids. :D

Yours truly, the first (and only) only surviving trapper beaching at the fort. (One wounded)

Great Fun!

New Accessories

In an effort to make my battle reports more visually appealing, I am changing the way I record hits,  AP loss, and raging fires on the table. In addition, I picked up some Mine tokens as well.

These are from the Litko Naval Accessories Line.

My only negative comment on these products are the splashes are hard to put together without breaking. I broke 3 out of the first 10 until I decided to trim the bottoms (not easy) and glue them. Other than that I really like them.

Here is a shot from a game we played last night at Tower. My Battleship just hit this Cruiser from range band 3. The small shell splash is AP loss, The large splashes with the blue bases are hull damage, and the raging fire is obvious:

Over all, I am pleased with the results. The only thing I may re-consider is the AP loss. I would like a better way to show some of the other critical results as well, so if any one has any ideas, let me know.
